Landlord Message to Other Landlords: Landlord Advisory – Caution Based On Personal Experience To Fellow Landlords: I Want To Share A Challenging Rental Experience To Help Others Make Informed Decisions. I Had These Tenants Who Stopped Paying Rent And Utilities For Over A Year, And During This Time, There Was Also Property Damage. Attempts To Communicate Were Ignored, And The Tenants Requested A "cash For Keys" Settlement To Vacate, Stating They Had Previously Resolved Similar Disputes Out Of Court With Other Landlords. I Also Learned Of Significant Credit Issues Associated With Them. I’m Sharing This Experience Not To Target Anyone Personally, But To Protect Fellow Property Owners From Going Through Similar Challenges. The Individuals I Rented Provided Falsified Documents During The Application Process. Unfortunately, I Only Discovered This After They Had Moved In. After Eviction, I’ve Been Receiving A High Volume Of Mail In Their Name, Including Correspondence From Various Collection Agencies. It’s Clear They Have Not Updated Their Address. In Addition , They Were Operating Home-based Businesses—specifically Tattooing And Baking—without Informing Me Or Securing Proper Approvals. These Activities Significantly Increased Utility Usage And Brought A Steady Stream Of Strangers To The Property, Which Caused Considerable Inconvenience And Discomfort For Neighbors. This Experience Has Been Stressful, Time-consuming.
